Skateboarding.
Because it is a sport and takes a lot of talent to be successful at it. I think it would give a lot of kids hope instead of just being good at it in the streets.
I think that cheerleading should be an Olympic sport. Most cheerleaders train and work hard just like everyone else does in an olympic sport and I think some cheerleaders are really interesting to watch.
I agree with Lu Ann that skateboarding should be an Olympic sport. It takes focus, disciple, strength, agility, and stamina to do what they do!

Skateboarding can be so artistic looking and it should definitly be a sport. Its something your average joe can’t do and there are so many things they can do on them little boards.

Canadians like their coffee (except me). But they tend to toss their cups and miss the garbage can quite frequently. They should make an Olympic sport of tossing Tim Horton cups into the garbage can from various distances. Not sure if we would win the gold tho – people need lots of practice on this!

Just imagine all the holiday shopping…racing to get the best parking spot, running through the aisles to get to the best deals, jumping over other shoppers as if they were hurdles, tug of war with other customers because you just gotta have that product that you actually have absolutely no use for, sprinting to the front of the store to checkout, and the wonderful jumping up and down and flailing of arms when you get the credit card bill for all the junk you bought.

LAUNDRY!
Doing laundry should be an Olympic sport. Points can be given in the following areas:
- sorting skills
- getting whites their whitest
- bleaching without putting holes in clothes (like my mom used to do) and without leaving white spots on coloured clothes
- keeping clothes the same size (compare size when it goes in the washer to when it comes out of the dryer)
- smell
There you have it! A brand new Olympic sport!
I think Walmart shopping should be a sport. Some kind of Black Friday sale incentive where you get to keep everything you steal from people’s carts. And the uniform should be pink hot pants and a tube top decorated with a bedazzler by each contestant(with bonus points for creative sparkle.)

We already have a new sport here in Montreal: The Garbage Can Toss. Our garbage collectors throw our cans as far down the street as they can and we get to replace them 3 times a year.
I think snowshoveling should be included as an olympic sport. As Canadians we would do well because we get to practice our “sport” on an almost daily basis!
I would like to see an Olympic event where moms attempt to push an infant in a flimsy umbrella stroller and manage a hyper toddler while trying to take two very large heavy boxes to the post office downtown. I’ve done it before and it’s not easy!!! Beyond that, I think we’ve got most sports covered.

I think that shopping could be a great Olympic Sport. It could even be broken down by men and women’s sports like the Olympics. There could be a race through the whole supercenter with obstacles like toys in the floor, children and there could be pallets where they are restocking that you have to avoid. There could be specialty obstacles like men would have to avoid the dreaded “feminine products” aisle, haha. There could even be peripheral events like pushing the shopping cart from various distances into those cart receptacles and bagging groceries.

Snowshovelling should be an olympic event. In order to keep the spirit of fairness, Canada would be happy to mentor teams from countries that are lacking in snow. Sent them to Canada in the winter and we’ll make sure they get the best training available. We won’t even charge them for this privilege. We might even provide the shovels! No gym membership needed. Get fit, get active!

Olympic winter Car cleaning! Each vehicle is covered in a thick layer of ice. The first person to successfully enter the car by any door to get it started and then have scrapped all the ice off of all windows and lights win!

I digress… My choice for a new olympic sport would be bowling. My reasoning is simple, there can be mens, womens, individual, and team events as it would seem to be required for any olympic sport these days. Most importantly, however, would be the fact that it is the only ’sport’ that I would ever have any chance of making an olympic team with. Its always been a dream of mine to win a gold medal, but I haven’t ever been even close to good enough at anything to have a prayer. I guess I’ll just have to plan the perfect heist and steal one. Sigh… work work work.
Yes, you guessed it… you said you read each and every comment, so I’m attempting to make it ever so slightly more difficult for you to do so. Hmmmmmm, lets see. I don’t think I have much else to type about. I thought about nominating tiddlywinks as a new sport, but I really didn’t think that it would fly. Also, I’d bet that dozens of other people already nominated it so the IOCC is probably already debating its merits. I assume that they read every Olympic reference on the internet. Actually, now that I think about it, they probably don’t. Oh well, I guess they have more important things to do. I think I’ll go get some beef jerky now. And a glass of milk. Ooh, maybe chocolate milk. Yep, definitely chocolate. That’ll taste just yummy. Maybe I’ll leave out the jerky though and go for a cookie or two instead. Or three. Wow, and I wonder why I’m fat. No, I really don’t. I know why. I just don’t really care.

With as many people who will be attending the Olympics, I would love to see a wall of missing loved ones. Someone just may make recognition and a loved one be returned home safely! The wall of missing loved ones would be a sport in which those can compete in a race with the missing poster on the backs of those running a race. The wall would be for those to see the contestants running and the missing person they will represent.
Oh,,the WOMENS SKI JUMPING,,,get them in there it is not fair that the men can jump but the women cant..they do their own world cup but for some stupid reason don’t qualify for the Olympics…go figure

Olympic Team Snowball Fights! Think of it, you could have different events, such as single hit elemination, and total hit count. Give them a certain amount of time to build a fortification and make snowballs, then when time is up, have at it. That would be awesome!

What new Olympic Winter sport would I add?
Maybe Tobogganing ( to make it harder use Crazy carpets and a steep hill), or Snow Mobile Races.

I think Rapping should be an Olympic sport, because aside from the “gangsta” stigma it carries, the possibilities the English language has to offer are endless. It will give people a chance to express their creativity, while spreading a message to the world at the same time. The competition could be judged on the lyrical content, and rhyming & flowing skills. The best in the world would probably have some pretty interesting things to say.
How about a quad-Athelon (ski, toboggan, skate, and snow shoe) but not necessarily in that order? Only the strong would survive…

I believe that running a treadmil should be an olympic sport: Here is why, I got on one of those things and everytime I went over 5 on the MPH button I almost went flying off it and into the glass windowed wall of my school dorm’s gym. Imagine if I would have went to 6.

Snowball fighting in clown suits would be a bright colorful affair, as a grand finale the clowns can present a gymnastic cheer routine.
this is the second entry for my oh so humorous remark about clowns having snowball fights. I forgot to say they have to wear snowshoes. Now, that will make for some unique gymnastics.

I think the Tim Hortons Biathlon would be great. Get in your car in a snowstorm, drive to the nearest Tim Hortons, and consume a donut and small coffee as fast as possible. Then get back in the car and go to the next one and do it again until you run out of shops. Not sure if you need a course, just gotta hit em all in a city.
My recent experience with a rolling pin tells me that making pies should be an olympic sport. It is most definitely a sport !!! Just look at your grandma’s biceps !!! I’m telling you, these ladies are athletes !
