Our History

Giving It Away Ltd. was founded in 2009 by the incredible and unstoppable duo of Andrea and Odum Idika on a hot summer’s day in Waterloo, ON. We both have a reputation of notoriously hating selling our things in garage sales, so we always end up giving away things we don’t need any more to friends. So we though why can’t we do this online, and instead of giving away our old stuff we give away cool things like TVs, cameras and video games?

And thus 6 months after that fateful hot summer’s day Giving It Away Ltd. first broke through on the internet in November of 2009. Since then we’ve seen a remarkable growth averaging over 30 new followers each day!

About This Site

The biggest question we get is “what’s the catch?” Truthfully there is no catch, we lay everything out on the table for you to see. Our prizes are generated through advertising revenue and sponsorships. Our draws are held by a third party service. We email you at the end of every giveaway you enter to let you know how many entry points you’ve earned. So we aren’t trying and never will try to sell you anything. This site is built on our philosophy of giving and sharing and we want everyone to enjoy participating in each giveaway that we hold without worrying about what the catch might be.

We don’t consider this our site but YOUR site. We are always striving to make this site more enjoyable for you and we value all your feedback and comments.
