Our participation status program is our way of saying thank you and rewarding our participants that help us attract more people to our site. The more you participate in each giveaway the more rewards you will earn.
Point Structure
Types of Points
There are three types of points that form the basis of Giving It Away’s point structure.
1. Entry Points (EPs): EPs earn apply directly into the draw. If you are awarded 15 EPs in a giveaway you will receive 15 ballots into the draw.
2. Participation Points (PPs): For each EP awarded you receive one PP. PPs are only used to gauge your participation status and cannot be used to purchase gear from our store or redeemed for EPs (more details below).
3. Spending Points (SPs): For each PP awarded you receive a corresponding SP based on your participation status. SPs may be used to purchase additional EPs or redeemed for gear.

Example: In July there were three giveaways that you participated in. During those giveaways you commented on each giveaway (3), commented on our facebook giveaway page (3), and referred 5 people to Giving It Away (75). You are awarded 81 PP which will bring your participation level to the Silver Status. Your account will be credited with 81 x 1.5 = 121.5 SP for the month of July (more details below on how to earn EPs and PPs).
Entering Giveaways
To enter a giveaway it is required for you to comment on the giveaway on this site. In order to comment on a giveaway you must be registered. Be sure to read all the giveaway details to make sure you know what is required in your comment, otherwise you will not be entered. You will be awarded one (1) EP for your comment. Once you have commented on a giveaway you are free to earn as many more EPs as you wish (see below on how to earn more EPs).
Friend Referral
Our friend referral reward program is the fastest way to accumulate a large amount of SPs in a short period of time. For each successful friend referral you will be awarded fifteen (15) EPs. You will be awarded a successful referral when a new member inputs your name under the referral field on our registration form.
You must be following us on twitter to be awarded one (1) EP for tweeting a giveaway. To receive one (1) EP simply retweet (small green button) the giveaway. Tweet must include “@givingitaway” and the name(s) of the prize. You must add #giveaway(number) to the tweet, replacing (number) with the actual giveaway number listed on the giveaway page.
Tweet should look something like this: Win a new iPod Touch or a Nintendo Wii from @givingitaway #giveaway21
You must be a fan of our facebook page. Make any kind of comment on our facebook status page. A good suggestion is to leave a comment for your suggestion for the question of the week.
YouTube
You must be a subscriber to our YouTube channel. Make any kind of comment on our Monday giveaway video.
Creative
Every Monday on our YouTube videos we will mention what we think were our top comments (from this site, twitter, facebook or YouTube) and the author of each comment will be awarded 10 EPs and 75 PPs (that is enough PPs to bump you automatically into Silver Status).
