How it Works: Each contest will have a predetermined duration or “open period” which will be explicitly posted on each contest page.

How to Enter: During the “open period” eligible participants may visit www.givingitaway.ca and follow the on-screen instructions to enter a contest, consisting of leaving a valid comment on a contest page. After submitting a valid entry one (1) required entry point will be awarded. Participants are then eligible to receive bonus entry points into the contest by participating in the following:

1. Twitter: Participants must follow @givingitaway on twitter and submit their twitter username to Giving It Away Ltd. Participants can retweet our contest page by clicking on the green retweet button to receive one (1) bonus entry point. All twitter updates must include at a minimum:
   1. the phrase “@givingitaway”
   2. a link to the contest page
2. Facebook: Participants must become a fan of Giving It Away’s facebook page and submit their facebook username to Giving It Away Ltd. Participants may post a comment on Giving It Away’s status update for one (1) bonus entry point.
3. Friend Referral: A participant may generate three (3) bonus entry points for each new participant referred (defined as an individual who has not previously entered any contest held on www.givingitaway.ca). A referred participant must enter a contest and submit the full name of the participant who referred them within their entry (comment). The participant will receive three (3) bonus entry point towards the contest in which the referred friend entered.
4. Post on Forum: A participant may generate three (3) bonus entry points by posting a giveaway on a forum. A participant is required to inform Giving It Away Ltd. of their forum post and provide us a link for verification. Giving It Away Ltd. may refuse to award bonus entry points if the forum is too small or the user posting is not a regular member of that forum.
5. Funny Comments, Posts and Tweets: A participant may generate up to two (2) bonus entry points by publishing funny or creative entries into a contest via comments, posts or tweets. A minimum total of thirty (30) bonus entry points will be award per contest to the funniest 30 (or more) comments, posts and tweets as decided by Giving It Away Ltd.

Recurring Entry Points: At the conclusion of each contest all entry points will be transferred into participation points. Participation points can be redeemed to enter exclusive contests.

For Giving It Away to correctly calculate participant’s entry and participation points users must always use the same name and email address when commenting. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure their entries are consistent. Decisions on the number of entry and participation points awarded by Giving It Away Ltd. are final.

Random Drawing: At the conclusion of each contest’s “open period” a winner will be selected randomly within 48 hours from all valid entries received. Draws will completed by a third party-draw service from random.org. Odds of winning a contest are dependent upon the total number of entry points received. Winners will be notified by email. Winners must provide valid photo identification prior to any prizes being awarded (see our privacy policy).

Eligibility: Contests are open only to residences of the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 18 years or older at the time of entry. Employees and agents of Giving It Away Ltd. as well as members of the immediate families (defined as spouse, mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters) are ineligible to participate. All comments, tweets, status updates and blog posts must be written in English.

Prizes: Retail value of the prizes will be listed on each contest page. Prizes are valued in Canadian Dollars. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. Prizes will be delivered within approximately 4 weeks of the announcement of a winner.

Skill testing question required to be declared a winner. Participants are responsible for any duty fees that may be required for shipment of prizes into the United States.
